Lauren Levin

Town Board Candidate

Lauren and husband Ben have lived in Chappaqua since 2011. She was born in Manila, Philippines, and lived in Guam, Hawaii and Maryland before settling in central New Jersey where she became a U.S. Citizen at the age of seven. Lauren then moved west and went to middle and high school in Nevada. She spent six months in Florence, Italy before ultimately returning to New York to attend New York University where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in Economics. Lauren has two young children; Jackson is six and in kindergarten at Grafflin Elementary; Lily, who is two and runs the household, is at Chappaqua Friends Nursery School. While uncommon to move to the suburbs before having children, Ben and Lauren found Chappaqua to be a welcoming and charming community (and they still do!).

After NYU, Lauren began a career in retail as an Assistant Buyer and then Buyer at Lord and Taylor, eventually running a fifty-million-dollar revenue cosmetics business line. Lauren commuted into New York City for several years while managing large brands such as Lancôme, Kiehls Since 1851, and Clarins, loving both the financial and fashion sides of the business.

Lauren became a full-time mom in 2012 when Jackson was born and soon sought volunteer opportunities in Chappaqua. She joined the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce where she became the Vice President of the board. Building off the success of Art Around Town, Lauren created Wine Around Town to help drive foot traffic to businesses in downtown Chappaqua. She collaborated with local merchants and the Chamber of Commerce to execute a successful event which now takes place annually. Lauren also serves on the Streetscape Committee where she helped make aesthetic design and functional decisions for the downtown Chappaqua renovation and renewal currently underway. She is currently the parent liaison for the Chappaqua Friends Nursery School Committee. She has helped raise over sixty thousand dollars for Chappaqua Friends Nursery School in the past three years as chair of their annual Spring Fling fundraiser.

Lauren is committed to the Town of New Castle. With her retail background, volunteer work, and event execution experience, Lauren aspires to serve our Town and continue to bring vitality and opportunity to our downtown areas. She believes these areas of Town can continue to grow as a gathering place for our families. Lauren’s track record in varying capacities has given her the confidence she can serve the Town for the best interests of the community.
